U.S. Consulate in Istanbul cites feasible threat, cancels consular solutions

“We strongly encourage U.S. citizens to sustain a higher level of vigilance, be conscious of local events, and take the proper steps to bolster your private security,” the consulate added in a statement on its internet site.

Turkey angered by rocket-brandishing on Russian naval ship passing Istanbul

ISTANBUL Turkey accused Russia of a “provocation” on Sunday soon after a serviceman on the deck of a Russian naval ship allegedly held a rocket launcher on his shoulder although the vessel passed via Istanbul.

Turkish police say trigger of blast close to Istanbul metro still unknown

ISTANBUL The cause of a blast close to an Istanbul metro station on Tuesday was nevertheless unknown and police investigations had been underway, a police official told Reuters.
